Taipei

I came to Taipei for a feature film project, SILENCE, but over five months I developed a connection to the city in a way I could not have imagined.  They have the greatest compassion for their fellow human beings, more than any culture I have seen on earth.  Their tolerance and their generosity is shown at a kind of length that is almost unbelievable.  They are also a culture of benign idiosyncracy and contradiction, both of which they are uninhibited to express.  Perhaps that explains why I think my  photographs here have a greater revelation of feelings than anywhere else I have been.  I feel a yearning to return here as soon and as often as I am able.
